Great Events Catering Nominated for Best Catered Event
We are unbelievably honoured to announce that we have been short-listed for the upcoming international Special Events 2018 Gala Awards in the category of Best Catered Event for Calgary’s ‘Foodies in the Park’.
The Special Events 2018 Gala Awards represents the penultimate achievement in events at the international level. Accepting nominations from across the globe, the group aims to honour the outstanding achievements and creativity in the event industry spanning from event décor and planning to catering and production.
Foodies in the Park, a food showcase event that took place May 3rd, 2017, proved to be the perfect platform to display everything we have to offer. With a focus on local food trends and the disassembly of dishes down to their bare ingredients, the event paired interactive ingredient education with incomparable taste.
“Foodies in the Park gave us the perfect opportunity to play. We created a menu with the intent of offering people a different way to view and experience food.” Says Daryl Kerr, Corporate Chef, Great Events Catering. “Dining should be an experience. Our goal was to take the typical dining routine and turn it on its head.”
2017 has proved a banner year for our company. We have received honours such as ‘Chef of the Year’ award and being named “Calgary’s Favourite Caterer”. Great Events Catering is proud to be shortlisted in the “Best Catered Event” category along with two additional nominees. The award gala will take place on Thursday, February 1 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Ernest M. Morial Convention Centre.
